Assassin's Creed Introduces Surprising Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that breaks conventional forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Disclosed
According to the authorized release, "An unusual meeting draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and fearsome changes echo through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a clandestine cult.
The questline concentrates on "strange trials and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Changes
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an special katana in addition to multiple objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's newest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also features a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
