“That was regrettable. It was essentially an exchange with our fans out in front of us,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a large group of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, Cowboys fans. The whole venue was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the gesture was completely unintentional, happening amid the excitement following the team’s final touchdown. “I just put up the wrong digit,” he remarked. “It was inadvertently done. This is sincere. If you want to call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”
