EU Officials Condemn US Action as ‘Coercion’
European leaders including Emmanuel Macron accused the US administration of “bullying and threats”, after the travel bans were placed on figures that were central to efforts to enact laws governing American tech companies.
“For far too long, ideologues in Europe have led organised efforts to coerce US companies to suppress American viewpoints they oppose,” wrote the US secretary of state online. “The current administration will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
