The Legacy of Divinity
The Divinity series is highly rated and many say it kicked off the modern wave of crunchy computer role-playing games. These games are celebrated for detailed worlds, branching plots, and deep class systems—traits that later reached new heights in games like Baldur's Gate 3.
While its universe is familiar fare, what makes Divinity apart is the immense freedom given to the player.
Where many modern RPGs have simplified options, Divinity is full of unique possibilities only possible if you're playing as a specific type of character with a personal story.
The series is also wonderfully permissive, allowing players to find creative solutions in narrative and gameplay. Nearly every quest can be completed in diverse methods, often in lateral fashion.
- You might find an answer because you heeded something a non-human character said.
